Department Store Retailers Empower Store Associates With Modern Technology
Oracle announced today that Belk, Hot Topic and Torrid have invested in Oracle Retail Xstore Point-of-Service to improve their in-store guest experiences. All three companies are owned by Sycamore Partners, a New York-based private equity firm whose portfolio generates more than $10 billion in annual sales.
Retailers compete on the basis of brand experience. The store is the nucleus of the human touch point. Consumers are embracing mobile devices and transformative in-store technologies that redefine their shopping experiences. Belk, Hot Topic and Torrid will leverage this same technology to empower associates and provide them with more information to better serve consumers.
With a modern and intuitive user interface, Oracle Retail easily delivers and demonstrates best practices in retailing as a platform for unified commerce and transparency.
“The success of all three companies is dependent on the commitment and dedication of our associates,” said Don Hendricks, executive vice president and chief operating officer, Belk. “The investment in Oracle Retail Xstore Point-of-Service empowers and inspires our associates to deliver a personalized shopping experience.”
“By using Oracle Retail solutions, these retailers empower associates to sell their products quickly, consistently and knowledgably from wherever they engage their customers,” said Mike Webster, senior vice president and general manager, Oracle Retail and Hospitality. “Oracle empowers commerce by investing in complimentary cloud services that provide retailers with a single view of customer and order starting at the point of sale.”
