Your Role as an Infrastructure Consultant

There is never a typical day at Logic, but that’s why people love it here! As an Infrastructure Consultant, you will utilize knowledge of network, hardware, and database administration to ensure appropriate installation and configuration of Oracle Retail application software and underlying infrastructure components for Logic and the client

You might spend your day

  • Install and configure Oracle Retail Micros applications (Xstore, Locate, Relate, XCenter/XAdmin, etc.
  • Maintain and update Virtual Machines and apply Oracle Retail patches and releases as required
  • Provide expertise in SSL Protocol, SSL Certificates, and encryption of data
  • Maintain and update operating systems for both Logic and client
  • Setup and maintain web server and application server hardware and software environment
  • Assist in defining and ensuring adherence to both Oracle Retail and Logic infrastructure standards
  • Assist in setup and testing of application and database backup strategies for both Logic and client
  • Provide expertise of relational database around Oracle and SQL Server database objects, users, security, and PL/SQL
  • Provide expertise of integration of Oracle Retail Micros applications to external systems
  • Provide expertise of both UNIX and Windows security to Logic and its clients
  • Perform knowledge transfer to client personnel as it relates to the Oracle Retail applications
  • Build, support and troubleshoot Logic/client environments in non-production and production
  • Provide on-call support as needed during non-business hours for both Logic and its clients
  • Document instructions and procedures used to install and update Oracle Retail applications
  • Provide training for both Logic and client on installation and configuration of Oracle Retail applications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
  • Expertise in Oracle Retail/Micros installation/administration (Xstore, Locate, Relate, XCenter/XAdmin, etc.)
  • Expertise in Oracle and SQL Server database installation and configuration (performance tuning and administration a plus)
  • Extensive experience with Linux OS and/or Windows including UNIX and Windows shell scripting
  • Experience with Virtual Machines (VMWare, OracleVM) and Cloud Platforms (OCI, Azure, AWS)
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 80%
